Onyx Enterprises is a Canadian software company based in Montréal. Since 2018 we've been building and operating business software — and OnyxDine, our restaurant platform, is the first of several systems now coming out of that work.
Onyx started in 2018 as a small engineering shop. We built software for clients across Canada, India, the Philippines, Nigeria and the Caribbean — booking systems, billing, field-service tools, marketplaces. Different industries, same pattern: businesses stitching together four or five products that didn't talk to each other, paying for each one, and still running the important parts on paper.
Restaurants had it worst. An order pad for the floor, a tablet for delivery apps, a POS that couldn't see the kitchen, a spreadsheet for stock — and an owner doing the reconciliation at midnight. We spent years in R&D on a different idea: one system where the table, the kitchen, the counter and the back office all read from the same data, built to be learned in a shift.
That became OnyxDine. It launched in January 2026 and now runs in more than 385 restaurants across five regions, in English and French. The same foundation — one account, one set of data, apps for every role — is what our next products are built on.
Every screen, every app, every server is ours. No white-label resale, no outsourced support desk.
Pricing, scope and what's included are written down before a restaurant pays a dollar. No surprises on the invoice.
We don't sell it, we don't run ads on it, and you can export all of it any time.
A real person on chat and email during restaurant hours — 8am–12am ET, 7 days a week — in English and French.
The platform under OnyxDine — accounts, billing, apps, reporting, Aria — was built to run more than one kind of business. Several systems on that foundation are in final development and will be announced through 2026–27. Same team, same rules: built in-house, terms first, your data stays yours.
